KAPOEIRA N’GOLA PRETO VELHO TERMS + CONDITIONS
LAST UPDATED: OCTOBER 2026
Welcome to N’Gola Preto Velho. By accessing our website or participating in our classes, events, and other offerings, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.
1. About N’Gola Preto Velho
N’Gola Preto Velho shares the practice of Capoeira Angola through instruction, music, movement, cultural education, community gatherings, and related offerings.
Our school is grounded in respect for the traditions and lineage of Capoeira Angola, mutual care, and a shared commitment to the development of the community.
2. Classes, Events + Participation
Participation in classes, rodas, workshops, performances, and other activities is voluntary and subject to the requirements of each offering.
Capoeira Angola involves physical movement, partner interaction, musical instruments, and other activities that carry inherent risks, including the possibility of injury. Participants are responsible for considering their physical abilities and communicating relevant limitations or concerns to their instructor.
All new students and guests must complete the required intake form and acknowledge the applicable participation terms before taking part in activities.
Participants under 18 must attend and participate in accordance with the school's minor participation and parental supervision requirements.
Participation may be declined or discontinued when necessary to maintain a safe, respectful, and appropriate environment.
3. Community Membership
N’Gola Preto Velho is a community-oriented school that values consistency, mutual respect, and commitment to the collective practice.
Drop-in participation may be available at the rates published on our website. Ongoing membership is offered by invitation on a case-by-case basis. Membership and reduced community dues are subject to the school's membership arrangements and are not automatically available to drop-in participants.
Membership expectations, contributions, and other arrangements may be discussed directly with the school.
4. Fees, Payments + Cancellations
Class fees, private instruction rates, event contributions, and membership dues will be communicated through the website or directly by the school.
Unless otherwise stated, fees are payable according to the arrangements agreed upon at the time of booking or registration.
Advance payment may be required for certain events or offerings. Cancellation, refund, and rescheduling arrangements may vary by offering and will be communicated where applicable.
The school reserves the right to adjust fees, schedules, locations, and offerings when reasonably necessary. Where practical, participants with existing bookings will be notified of material changes.
5. Private Instruction + Other Offerings
Private training, performances, workshops, and other specialized offerings are arranged by mutual agreement. Scheduling, fees, and the nature of each engagement will be discussed directly with the school.
Any exchange or arrangement for a particular offering is subject to the terms agreed upon by the parties.
6. Respectful Conduct
We ask all participants to contribute to an environment grounded in respect, care, and shared responsibility.
Harassment, discrimination, threatening behavior, intentional harm, and conduct that compromises the safety or dignity of others are not acceptable. Participants must follow reasonable instructions from instructors and respect the school's community guidelines.
Participation may be restricted or discontinued in response to conduct that undermines the wellbeing of the group.
7. Assumption of Risk + Participation Waivers
Participation in Capoeira Angola and related physical activities involves inherent risks. Participants must review and complete any applicable participation agreements, acknowledgments, or liability waivers before taking part.
These website terms do not replace a separately executed participation agreement or waiver. Nothing in these terms is intended to waive rights or impose limitations that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.
8. Photography + Media
Photography, video, and audio recordings may be made at certain classes, events, or gatherings. Any use of an identifiable participant's image or likeness for promotional, educational, or other purposes will be subject to applicable consent requirements and any permissions provided by the participant or their parent or legal guardian.
Participants may contact the school regarding questions about media use or the withdrawal of previously granted permission.
